Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2022
In September 2022, New Contemporaries annual exhibition of emerging and early career artists launched in Hull at Humber Street Gallery and Ferens Art Gallery. The hotly anticipated 2022 exhibition included artists selected through an open submission by internationally renowned artists James Richards, Veronica Ryan and Zadie Xa.
Established in 1949, New Contemporaries gives visibility, recognition and support to the incredible breadth and depth of emerging talent, enabling artists’ practices to become more sustainable long-term.
Drawing on personal and universal narratives, 2022’s exhibition demonstrated a rich diversity of voices and approaches to making. The 47 selected artists included final year students and recent graduates from UK arts institutions, as well as practitioners on alternative peer-to peer learning programmes.
