Parklife / Stories from the Shires

We’re excited to bring both of the works Parklife and Stories from the Shires to the old New look space at Whitefriargate. Originally created for Creative Hull, now available once more for anyone that hasn’t had a chance to experience them back in July.

Parklife

Parklife celebrates the stories of local people who live and work around Peel Street park in a new and unique photography exhibition displayed in the heart of the community.

Volunteers and the local people have been working together since 2019 and Parklife is the next exciting step in the journey.

Commissioned by Absolutely Cultured, local photographer Sergej Komkov has been working with volunteers to interview and photograph the people and places of Peel Street Park, capturing its fascinating story.

Stories from the Shires

Stories from the Shires celebrates the stories of local people who live and work around the Shires area of Gipsyville through an exciting new soundscape which will be played at the heart of the community.

Volunteers and the local people have been working together since 2019 and Stories from the Shires is the next exciting step in the journey.

Commissioned by Absolutely Cultured, local artist Andy Pea and sound artists The Broken Orchestra have been working with volunteers to interview and record the fascinating stories of local people.
