Absolutely Cultured is committed to placing the arts and creativity at the heart of Hull’s ambitions and aspirations. In short, we’re working hard to make sure that Hull remains one of the UK’s leading cities of culture long into the future. We do this in a range of ways: through our award-winning volunteering programme, our spectacular large-scale public events, our contemporary art gallery Humber Street Gallery, our work to support emerging artists such as our Hull Independent Producers Initiative and through our learning and engagement work in schools and within local communities.
We believe that access to great art and culture is a right, not a privilege. Everyone should have access to world-class cultural activity irrespective of their ability to pay – and that’s why most of our events are free to attend. But they’re not free to produce. The cost per person of our recent major event The Witching Hour in East Park was over £20 but everyone attended for free. This was only made possible through the generous support of our funders, donors and partners.
Hull has a vibrant and exciting arts scene. If you’ve enjoyed one of our events, exhibitions, benefited from our volunteer programme, or just believe that great art and culture should be available to everyone, then please make a gift to Absolutely Cultured today.

Other ways to support
If you’re unable to offer financial support at this time you can help us grow by following us on social media and spreading the word to your own communities.
Absolutely Cultured receives funding from our Major Funders Hull City Council and Arts Council England but this doesn’t cover the cost of everything we do. To deliver our full programme, and fulfil the potential of our city, we also need the support of other organisations – and people like you.
We are enormously grateful to all of our supporters, large and small, for helping us keep Hull alive with culture.
