Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2022
New Contemporaries annual exhibition of emerging and early career artists launches in Hull at Humber Street Gallery and Ferens Art Gallery. The hotly anticipated 2022 exhibition includes artists selected through an open submission by internationally renowned artists James Richards, Veronica Ryan and Zadie Xa.
Established in 1949, New Contemporaries gives visibility, recognition and support to the incredible breadth and depth of emerging talent, enabling artists’ practices to become more sustainable long-term.
Drawing on personal and universal narratives, this year’s exhibition demonstrates a rich diversity of voices and approaches to making. The 48 selected artists include final year students and recent graduates from UK arts institutions, as well as practitioners on alternative peer-to peer learning programmes.
As well as taking part in the annual touring exhibition, artists will benefit from inclusion in the New Contemporaries online platform and gain access to a range of mentoring, talks, discussion groups and workshops through New Contemporaries bespoke Bridget Riley Artist Development Programme.
