Layla Jabbari is a Hull-based illustrator. Layla employs a fusion of drawing, printmaking, and collage in her mixed media illustrations and animations to construct interconnected narratives that accentuate the enchantment inherent in ordinary lives.
Delving into the stories of people she meets; Layla’s work is purposefully designed to evoke smiles. Layla’s work explores the concept that within the routine aspects of life, there exists an opportunity to celebrate the profound wonder embedded in our collective existence.
Layla is presently pursuing an MA in Illustration with Falmouth University. Layla was longlisted for the World Illustration Awards 2023. She is currently exhibiting work at Ferens Art Gallery as part of Hull on the Rise and is being showcased in London at Great Portland Street Station. Layla’s work has been published in Sonder Series, a Manchester-based publication and Artists Responding To magazine.
