Absolutely Cultured working with Opera North to bring Paris to Hull this Winter

We’re thrilled to be working in partnership with Opera North to transport Hull audiences to a crisp, winter evening in Paris with their animated re-imagining of Act III of Puccini’s best-loved opera La bohème.

Matthew Robins’ unique animated retelling of Act III of La bohème captures the emotion and humour of Puccini’s classic opera. Featuring a newly-recorded soundtrack by the Orchestra and Chorus of Opera North and four soloists, the animation works as a standalone piece so you don’t need to have seen the full production to attend.

The 20-minute long animation will be projected onto walls and buildings across the cities and towns of the North.

Here in Hull, the show will take place across three nights and three locations at the end of November. Tickets are available for £5, and we’d like to thank Opera North for making a number of tickets free to a screening for residents local to Peel Street Park, where our volunteers have been leading work to regenerate the area in collaboration with the community.
