Volunteer Community Support and Crisis Response

We have been blown away by the fantastic work being put into action by our friends and community groups across Hull and beyond, and we want to contribute to those efforts how best we can too.

We’re working with both Hull City Council and East Riding Council (through HEY Smile Foundation) to put together a co-ordinated plan for local assistance from our volunteers in the face of the COVID-19 crisis.

Hull Helpline

Hull City Council have launched the “Hull Helpline” to support vulnerable residents impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic. Residents can register their need for support through an online form on the council’s website hull.gov.uk or call the dedicated “Hull Helpline” number 01482 300 307.

We at Absolutely Cultured will be supporting this project and our local communities via our existing volunteers who have the relevant training and experience to help residents who need it most.

CallER Collective

Isolated residents in the East Riding of Yorkshire are now able to pick up the phone for support and friendship, thanks to CallER Collective, a new befriending service launched by HEY Smile Foundation, East Riding of Yorkshire Council and a collective of local charitable organisations.

Absolutely Cultured is working with HEY Smile Foundation to provide local, existing volunteers to support and man the phoneline, combatting social isolation across the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Chatty Hull Befriender Service

Absolutely Cultured has teamed up with Hull and East Yorkshire Mind and Hull City Council to offer a Chatty Hull Befriender Service. This project has been established to support local vulnerable residents in search of companionship in these uncertain times.

If you’re feeling isolated or anxious as a result of the COVID-19 crisis, then you can call the “Hull Helpline” on 01482 300 307 and register a need for the service.
