We have been blown away by the fantastic work being put into action by our friends and community groups across Hull and beyond, and we want to contribute to those efforts how best we can too.
We’re working with both Hull City Council and East Riding Council (through HEY Smile Foundation) to put together a co-ordinated plan for local assistance from our volunteers in the face of the COVID-19 crisis.
Launch of “Hull Helpline” to support residents most in need
Hull City Council have launched the “Hull Helpline” to support vulnerable residents impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic. Residents can register their need for support through an online form on the council’s website hull.gov.uk or call the dedicated “Hull Helpline” number, 01482 300 307.
The helpline is for those that have no other means of support within the community and have essential needs that require extra support.
From noon on Thursday 26 March, the online registration page on the website hull.gov.uk and telephone hotline will go live. The dedicated “Hull Helpline” telephone is available seven days a week from 9am to 5pm.
When a person registers their details, their level of need will be assessed and prioritised, with support being mobilised when appropriate to help protect the city’s most vulnerable residents.
We at Absolutely Cultured will be supporting this project and our local communities via our existing volunteers who have the relevant training and experience to help residents who need it most. However, there may be a need to call upon people for extra support. This new cohort of volunteers will work alongside the existing Absolutely Cultured city-wide volunteers whilst needed during this pandemic.
If you are interested in offering additional volunteer support to this project, please register your details via the link below:
If you need support or know someone who does, whether that’s a family member, friend or neighbour, then we urge you to contact the helpline to register details so that the information can be recorded and assessed.
