Nobody: A Dance-Circus Adventure

Motionhouse, Hull New Theatre and Absolutely Cultured are proud to co-present “Nobody: A Dance Circus Adventure”. The event is part of a series of pilots over the next year, which aim to offer more opportunities to experience dance and physical performance in Hull.

Brand-new multimedia dance-circus production Nobody is fast-moving and highly physical, exploring the tension between our inner lives and how we make sense of the world around us.

Motionhouse’s unique dance-circus style combines with mesmerising choreography to tell the emotional and ultimately uplifting story of Nobody, full of twists and turns. In the blink of an eye, digital projections transform the world onstage – a world of illusion and breath-taking spectacle packed with visual magic. These projections and the shape-shifting set create a constantly changing environment where nothing is quite what it seems…

We follow seven characters on their journey of self-discovery to find strength and support in each other, while a group of curious crows questions their every move. As they negotiate their ever-changing reality, the performers search for answers as the world unravels around them. Can they work together to find out who they are?

Watch the Nobody trailer here to discover the incredible world on stage.

Motionhouse is supported by Arts Council England with additional support from Warwick District Council and is a Hippodrome Associate Artist.

Nobody is commissioned by and created in partnership with University of Kent, ART31 and Midlands Arts Centre. Supported by Dance Hub Birmingham, Arts Connect and The Leche Trust.
