In March 2020 we launched the Creative Micro-Commission Programme, offering £350 to creative practitioners across Hull and the North of England. The aim was to produce a new work, from any discipline, within the limits of working under current social distancing measures. The programme was designed to enable artists to respond and create new work quickly, encouraging the space and freedom to try out new ideas and ways of creating work for online presentation.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who applied. The submissions were wonderfully varied, both in discipline and artist location which is very exciting.
Initially we planned to commission six new pieces but, due to the overwhelming response, we’re pleased to announce we increased the selection to eight pieces.
