Hiya! I’m Sarah and I’m the Producer at Absolutely Cultured.
I look after the performance programme, support artist development and produce everything from dance, to theatre and large-scale outdoor art installations.
Originally from South Wales, I came to study Drama and Theatre Practice at the University of Hull, graduating in 2015. Since then, I’ve worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Hull Truck Theatre, Metro Bolout Dodo, The Regional Theatre Young Director’s Scheme, The Herd Theatre, Silent Uproar, Arts Council England, The University of Hull and others.
Locally, I’m part of a theatre company called The Roaring Girls that make fierce, feminist, fun theatre with women’s stories and well-being at the core. I am also the Chair of the Board of Trustees for a local charity called Concrete Youth who make theatre for audiences with profound and multiple learning disabilities.
I also moonlight at Hull Royal Infirmary in the A&E department, so hopefully, you’ll never see me there!
I am really proud to have lead the change for project grant access at Arts Council England, and that The Roaring Girls’ show Beach Body Ready was one of The Guardian’s top picks of The Fringe. Above all I’m proud of the local creatives who are consistently smashing it!
As for my down time, I’m obsessed with true crime documentaries and Louis Theroux. I’m never more at peace than when I’m listening to a murder podcast with a bag of crisps and a cuppa.
