IETM FAQs

WHAT IS IETM HULL PLENARY MEETING?

IETM is a membership organisation for contemporary performing arts, with more than 500 members from over 50 countries. With a mission to advocate for the value of the arts and culture in a changing world, IETM holds two plenary meetings a year in different European cities; Hull will be the first UK city to host a plenary since 2010.

Over four days, IETM Hull 2019 will give the national and international arts community an insight into what is special about the contemporary performing arts sector across Hull, the north of England and wider UK. The event will explore the theme of inclusion in today’s societies, in their artistic representations and in the process of creation.

We will present an exciting and inspiring programme of talks, debates and performances from local and national companies and artists, networking opportunities and more.

WHEN DOES IETM HULL PLENARY MEETING TAKE PLACE?

CAN I PROPOSE A TOPIC FOR DISCUSSION?

We are consulting directly with a cross-section of IETM members to develop topics, around the theme of Inclusion, for discussion in the plenary sessions.  If you have an idea, a proposal or a suggestion you can get in touch with IETM directly through the Forum. We will do our best to consider all suggestions.

CAN I PROPOSE A PERFORMANCE FOR THE ARTISTIC PROGRAMME?

The artistic programme of an IETM meeting gives a snapshot of the situation of the contemporary performing arts scene in the host country. It is not a festival, but rather an overview of the achievements, tendencies and concerns of the artists in the city, country or region hosting the meeting. It is also a carefully selected programme, following a consultation process with a cross-section of IETM members.
