Ferens Art Gallery LGBTQ+ Gallery Trail
Follow the brand new LGBTQ+ trail through the Ferens Art Gallery and experience the collection through a queer lens!
The LGBTQ+ gallery trail will highlight queer narratives in the gallery’s collection and will invite you to consider key themes and histories, to get you thinking and chatting about art, identity, gender and sexuality.
From Hercules to Joan of Arc, and from Rosa Bonheur to the two Roberts, you can explore them all via a brand new trail which shares LGBTQ+ narratives not previously told in the gallery’s displays.
The new LGBTQ+ trail will be launching on Friday 16 July 2021, in celebration of Creative Hull and forms part of Ferens Art Gallery’s ongoing Pride in Our City project which aims to increase LGBTQ+ inclusion and representation in all areas of the gallery’s work. Following the launch of the trail the next exciting step will be the upcoming Pride in Our City exhibition due to open at the Ferens Art Gallery in August 2021. The exhibition will explore the LGBTQ+ history of Hull, working closely with communities to explore new narratives and share individual’s interpretations and stories.
Head along to enjoy the collection afresh and to find out more about next steps, and how you can get involved in the upcoming exhibition.
