4. Where can I buy a Land of Green Ginger Book?

The Land of Green Ginger book was printed as a special limited edition.

Each household in Hull has received one copy of the book. Books have also been delivered to schools and libraries across the city. The Land of Green Ginger book is not available to purchase separately.

5. Why have I received the Land of Green Ginger Book?

Hull 2017’s groundbreaking community engagement project, Land of Green Ginger, invited Hull’s residents to immerse themselves in a magical citywide story inspired by and celebrating the spirit of Hull.

Land of Green Ginger was presented as a series of events, or “Acts of Wanton Wonder”, united under an overarching narrative. The individual Acts were developed and delivered with artists who worked both independently and in collaboration to bring art and culture into the neighbourhoods outside the city centre.

This limited edition book is the seventh and final Act of Land of Green Ginger.

It has been delivered to residents and schools across the city as a record of the project that took place and as a keepsake for the people whose lives were touched by the magic of Land of Green Ginger.

6. Why haven’t I received a Land of Green Ginger book?

The Land of Green Ginger book was delivered by Royal Mail to households contained within the Hull city boundary. Unfortunately, books could not be delivered to households outside of the city boundary.

We commissioned Royal Mail to deliver the book to every household in Hull as it was the most effective and efficient delivery method. We are, however, aware that some residents within the city boundary did not receive a copy of the book through the post.

We have now put plans in place for residents that did not receive a book through the post to collect from select libraries between Saturday 30 June and Saturday 14 July. Please visit our libraries collection point page to find out more.

8. Why didn’t my school receive a Land of Green Ginger crate?

Schools across Hull were contacted in May with an opportunity to sign up to take part in activities linked to the book. This included being delivered a special Land of Green Ginger crate containing a number of books and activities to be used as a resource.

If your school did not receive a crate this is because we did not receive a response to the opportunity to take part.
