Doorstep Dances, Tamar & Jo

Doorstep Dances was part of a series of activities made by local artists and commissioned by Absolutely Cultured in response to an open call out for Creative Hull in 2021.

Tamar & Jo brought you a special version of Doorstep Dances to Creative Hull. Over the course of two days, the pair held 6 intergenerational workshops suitable for those aged 4 to 94, including those with or without any previous dance experience.

Each workshop had a different dance theme:

Workshop 1: 90s dance music

Workshop 2: Summer holiday

Workshop 3: A special commission by choreographer Lea Anderson

Participants watched Tamar & Jo perform a short dance piece then took part in a 40-minute workshop to learn simple choreography The end of the workshop resulted in an opportunity to take part in an informal performance alongside the duo.

Joyful, inclusive and pressure-free, Doorstep Dances was perfect for families, budding dancers or those looking to try something a little bit different.
